Unemployment Insurance Assistance

Applying for Unemployment Insurance? Having trouble with a claim? If you are a resident of the Second Worcester District, my office may be able to help.

If you’ve recently lost your job, you may be eligible for Massachusetts’ Unemployment Insurance (UI) program while you search for a new one. Massachusetts Unemployment Insurance is a crucial safety net for workers in the Commonwealth. It provides financial support to individuals who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own, such as through layoffs or business closures.

Administered by the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA), the UI program aims to help eligible individuals bridge the gap between jobs and support themselves and their families. The unemployment insurance program offers a percentage of the worker's previous earnings as weekly benefits, replacing a portion of their lost wages. Additionally, it also provides assistance in finding new employment through job search resources and training programs.

Senator Moore and his staff are here to help if you need assistance with applying for or receiving Unemployment Insurance through the DUA.

Unfortunately, Senator Moore can only offer assistance to individuals who live in the Second Worcester Districtresidents of Auburn, Grafton, Millbury, Shrewsbury, Westborough, and Southeast Worcester.
