Shrewsbury Native Participates in Summer Internship Program
BOSTON – Senator Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury) welcomed Liam Monahan of Shrewsbury to the State House for the beginning of the 2017 summer internship program. Liam is interning within Senator Moore’s State House Office several days each week throughout the summer.
“I look forward to having Liam as part of the team this summer,” said Senator Moore. “I appreciate his interest in learning more about the legislative process, and for taking time away from his summer to assist me and my staff. I am sure that he will find his time at the State House both interesting and rewarding.”
Liam, the son of William and Nancy Monahan, attends Northeastern University where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Environmental Studies. Entering his sophomore year, he is a peer mentor, a member of the Husky Environmental Action Team, and participated in Model Arab League conferences in Boston and Washington, D.C. as part of the International Relations Council.
While at Shrewsbury High School, Liam served as President of Student Council and was an engaged member of the school community. He is also no stranger to the State House. In 2015, Liam participated in Student Government Day and was selected for the role of student Lieutenant Governor. He continues to work at the Shrewsbury Public Library.
