Grafton Native Participates in Internship Program
BOSTON – Senator Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury) welcomed Alecsandra Steele of Grafton to the State House for the beginning of the 2018 internship program. Alecsandra is interning within Senator Moore’s State House Office two days a week during the spring semester.
Alecsandra Steele, the daughter of Patricia Coz and David Steele, attends Stonehill College where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a double major in Political Science and Environmental Studies. Her area of concentration is in Public Policy and Public Administration. A rising senior with plans to graduate early, Alecsandra is a Resident Assistant and a member of the Students for Environmental Action club at Stonehill.
While in high school, Alecsandra worked with the Mass Audubon Society to repair and maintain trails at Perkins Farm in Worcester. She also helped organize two separate Student Activist Network Lobby Days at the State House as part of her work with Environment Massachusetts. The lobby day connected legislators with students from their districts to facilitate discussions about the importance of renewable energy in the Commonwealth.
Interns in Senator Moore’s State House office assist with daily office operations, conduct legislative research, attend informational seminars with legislators and constitutional officers, and have a first-hand opportunity to observe the Massachusetts legislative process.
