Legislation officially names state-owned bridge on Route 122A
BOSTON – Senator Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury) and Representative David K. Muradian, Jr. (R-Grafton) announced that legislation has been signed into law by Governor Charlie Baker that dedicates a bridge in the Town of Grafton as the ‘Veterans Memorial Bridge’ in honor of all who have served the Country.
“There is no greater honor than to introduce legislation that recognizes the service and sacrifice of our veterans and their families,” said Senator Moore. “This legislation reaffirms our deep appreciation to those who have served and celebrates veterans’ contributions to promote freedom on the home-front and abroad.”
“It is important to honor and recognize the contributions our veterans have made throughout the decades,” said Representative Muradian. “This dedication not only reaffirms the strong commitment we have to our veterans, but also acknowledges the unwavering sacrifices that veterans and their families have made for the betterment of our community and our country.”
The bill, now signed into law as Chapter 101 of the Acts of 2019, officially dedicates the state-owned bridge on Route 122A which crosses over the Blackstone River near Mill Villages Park in Grafton. The legislation was originally filed by Sen. Moore and Rep. Muradian back in April of this year.
